Where the linotype's keyboard normally sits is a gaping hole. You can see the casting on which it sits, the large hose which supplies a cooling blast to the mould, the drive belt, the spring-tube supporting the magazine-frame and some levers.

The keyboard, on the chair to the right, has been removed because some keybars have been damaged (in transit and storage) and cannot immediately be repaired. A changeover will be brought from a similar machine in the store.
