Booklovers' and Historians'
Special Access Program

PRINT YOUR OWN BOOK PAGE

See how books were printed without computers, and try it yourself. We give all required training for you to typeset and print your favourite book page.

Available to academics involved in book arts

and to anyone who can show a love of old books.

Takes about two days of mental concentration. You finish up with several copies of your page, perhaps on varying kinds of paper. In some cases it is possible to take away the type as well.

No previous printing experience is required, as our staff and volunteers show you all the steps including the ancient craft of setting type by hand.

See our `Printmakers' Page' [via Access Program index].

Basic cost $200. Includes use of type or typesetting machine, printing press, ink, and normal paper.

Price valid at June 1997
